What is Plethora?

Plethora is an app that connects you with local professionals who provide services at your desired location. Plethora makes it easy to find almost anything - from mobile make up artists, to car cleaning in your own driveway, to electricians - even your local ice cream truck!

How do I use this app?

Once you create your account, you’ll see all of the available businesses in your area. Select the business you want to book, and Ping them to request their services.

Select a Ping ASAP if you want the vendor to come as soon as they can

or you select a Ping Future to have them come at a scheduled date and time.

Once the vendor accepts your ping request, your appointment is booked!

How much does it cost?

Plethora is completely free to use. There are no sign up fees, no service fees, no delivery fees, and no ads. 

Do you sell my information?

No, we understand how important privacy is, and we will never sell your information to anybody.

Where is Plethora available?

Plethora is currently available on Long Island only.

Is it safe to use this app?

While we do vet our vendors to try to ensure safety, it's impossible for us to know everything. It's' important for you to stay alert and be smart when pinging a vendor, especially if they need to enter your home. If you feel uncomfortable for any reason, you should not move forward with the appointment. If anything happens, call the police immediately.

Do I need to create an account to use the app?

No, you do not need to create a Plethora account to view the available businesses. However, you will need an account in order to ping vendors and start booking services.

I’ve found a vendor that I want to use, but the ping button is grayed out - what is happening?

Some vendors, such as many of our Food vendors, do not accept Pings, so you'll need to drive to their location to purchase from them.

What is my passcode, and what is this used for?

The passcode is an additional measure used to avoid accidental Pings to vendors. We prompt for the passcode whenever you ask to ping the vendor so that we know that this ping was intentional.

You can update your passcode by tapping on Settings and then My Profile

Can I contact a vendor before I ping them?

Yes, of course. You may send the vendors Messages directly through Plethora.

You can do this by tapping on the message icon which is available on the Vendor Details screen, or you can go to the messages screen and create a new message directly through there.

I pinged a vendor, but they have not approved the ping yet - what do I do?

It can take several hours for the vendors to respond to the pings, so please be patient. If you feel like too much time has passed, we recommend sending a Message to the vendor and asking for an update.

Remember that until the vendor accepts the ping, your appointment is not officially booked.

What is Plethora?

Plethora is an app that connects customers with local professionals, such as yourself.  Customers will be able to find and book your services directly!

How much does Plethora cost?

Every vendor receives a free month, on us, so you can try the complete suite of Plethora features completely risk-free. Furthermore, there are NO Service Fees, NO Delivery Fees, NO Ads, and NO Contracts to sign.

Does Plethora take any percent of my sales, in addition to the monthly cost?

No, Plethora does not take any additional cut of your sales, so your profits are fully yours.

How do I use this app?

Start by creating your Vendor Account. Once created, you can begin receiving Pings right away. Remember to Accept the pings, so that the users know that you’ve received their requests and will perform the requested services.

What Ping modes are available to me?

You will have two different Ping modes available. You can enable or disable these from your Profile screen, if desired:

  • Ping ASAP - these are immediate requests. For example, if I am locked out of my house, I would create a Ping ASAP with a local locksmith. 
  • Ping Appointment / Ping Future - these are scheduled pings. For example, if I want to have a vendor set up a Bouncy Castle at my house on a certain date, I'd use these.

On top of these, there is also a Broadcast Location option, which allows your current GPS location to be visible to users. This can be used by Food Trucks or Food Pop Ups, to let customers know where they are located for the day.

Can I be both a Plethora User, and Vendor?

Yes, definitely! You will need to use two different logins (ie: one phone number, and one email), but you can certainly create one of each account type.

Do you require background checks for vendors?

While not required, we recommend getting background checked, so that users are more confident in using your services. Background checks are performed by a private third party company, so you can be certain that your information is secure.

I don’t see a correct category for my business - can I still join?

Yes, of course you can!

For now, you can select the "Other" category.

Then, please Contact Us to request a new category.

Can I choose more than one category for my business?

You sure can! We understand that you probably offer many different services, and we believe users should be able to find you, no matter which search terms they actually use!

How do I cancel my account?

We’re sorry to see you go. You can cancel your membership through the app. Just go to Settings, then tap on Membership / Payments, and press on the Cancel button.
